Pool Distribution

Pool Distribution is the distribution of product to numerous destination points (stores) within a particular geographic region. Characteristics include a high frequency regular shipments in LTL quantities, typically in the 150 to 2000 pound per shipment range. Pool distribution represents a superior and cost effective alternative to the high cost of LTL shipments. Instead of LTL direct, product is shipped to regional terminals in truckload quantities. There it is off loaded, then segregated and sorted by store then reloaded on local delivery trucks for delivery to pool destinations. Pool reduces transit times, maintains shipment integrity, and allows a significant discount over LTL rates. APDS scans the product off the trailer when first received at the pool terminal; scans again in the terminal for a reconciliation after sort and segregation; then scans into the store on delivery. Factors contributing to the cost effectiveness of pool over LTL includes: the number of pool points per pool (i.e. # of stores), volumes per store, weight per shipment, frequency of deliveries, and distance from store to pool point (terminal).

Truckload

TLI's Truckload division coordinates and dispatches hundreds of truckloads each month to destination points nationwide. Contracting with a host of contract motor carriers, TLI is positioned to handle its customers' truckload needs. Leveraging the aggregate of its truckload business allows TLI to obtain extremely favorable truckload rates for its customers. TLI can serve as the single source for your truckload needs.

LTL (Less-Than-Truckload)

When the quantity of freight to be moved is less than required to apply truckload rates and Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) is the best mode of transportation to move a shipment, then TLI is ready to move the cargo. Numerous LTL carriers are at TLI's disposal at a moment's notice to move cargo across the state or across the country.

Intermodal

When the quantity of freight to be moved is less than required to apply truckload rates and Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) is the best mode of transportation to move a shipment, then TLI is ready to move the cargo. Consolidation

TLI is equipped and capable of combining less-than-truckload shipments at its facilities until cargo volumes reach truckload levels. This allows significant cost savings to the customer by taking advantage of truckload rates, thus avoiding less-than-truckload rates.

Warehousing

TLI can accommodate its customers needs for places to receive and store goods and merchandise. TLI provides a wide variety of options for warehousing customer product at warehouse facilities across the country.

Freight Forwarding

TLI conducts freight forwarding services for domestic air freight, international air freight, or ocean freight. Customs Clearance and Brokerage services are also available.

Drayage

TLI coordinates drayage of containers from port or railhead to customer directed destinations, whether to warehouses, distribution centers, or terminals.

Local Cartage

TLI coordinates local pickup and delivery services for goods moving short distances.
